Gary Beban

As a senior in 1967, quarterback Gary Beban earned almost every honor that could be awarded to an offensive back, including the Heisman Trophy as college football's best player. Beban led UCLA to a record of 24-5-2 in his three seasons, including a 14-12 upset of top-ranked Michigan State in the 1966 Rose Bowl. He went on to play two seasons in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, mostly as a running back and wide receiver. Beban served on the UCLA Athetic Campaign Committee from 1987-1992. He was inducted into the National Football Foundation College Hall of Fame in 1988.
Beban was a charter member of the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984.
