Jim Bush

n his 20 seasons as the Bruins' coach (1965-1984), Jim Bush emerged as one of the most influential track coaches ever. Twenty-three of Bush's athletes at UCLA went on to compete in the Olympic Games from 1968-1988, winning four gold, five silver and three bronze medals. He also was a fitness consultant to most Los Angeles-area professional sports teams and served on the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports in the 1980s.
He was inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1987 and the U.S. Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1996.
