TUCSON, Ariz.

- The second-ranked Arizona women's swimming and diving squad swam past the No. 14 UCLA Bruins today, by a score of 186-122 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. The Cats move to 3-0 on the season, 2-0 in the Pac-10, while UCLA falls to 3-2 overall, 0-2 in the Pac-10 .

Leading the way for the U of A was the freshmen duo of Beth Botsford and Amanda Beard. Botsford.captured titles in both the 100 back (55.50) and 200 back (1:59.34), for the third straight meet, while Beard won the 100 and 200 breaststrokes also for the third straight meet. In addition, Beard's 200 breast time was an NCAA automatic qualifying time and bettered the school record that she set yesterday in the 200 breast.

For the Bruins, senior Keiko Price was a double-event winner for the second consecutive day, capturing first in both the 50 free (23.38) and the 100 free (50.65).
