LOS ANGELES - The UCLA men's volleyball team defeated Ball State, 3-0, Friday night in Pauley Pavilion to extend its winning streak to seven matches.
The Bruins (18-3) won 15-9, 15-5, 15-9 in 88 minutes. Senior Ed Ratledge slammed a match high 17 kills for UCLA, which hit 39% for the match. UCLA freshman Greg Coon added 14 kills and led all players with nine blocks. Senior All-American setter Brandon Taliaferro, the AVCA national Player of the Week, aced the Cardinals three times and added a team high 10 digs.
Sophomore Brian Hughes led the Cardinals (10-7) with 15 kills and four blocks.
The third-ranked Bruins host Concordia College of New York Saturday at 7 p.m in Pauley Pavilion.
