April 01, 2000 | Women's Water Polo
In their final regular-season home game, UCLA's four seniors came up big, accounting for half of the Bruins' 16 points. Senior playmaker Serela Kay led the Bruins with three goals, while fellow seniors Carly Herrera and Catharine von Schwarz added two goals apiece. A total of 11 players registered points for UCLA.
Pacific's only points came in the second half, when senior Molly Smith scored a goal in both the third and fourth quarters.
Tiger goalkeeper Jaime Hamilton pulled down four saves, while Bruin keeper Jaime Hipp grabbed two. Also in goal for UCLA were Kelly Hall and senior Erin Golaboksi, who after playing in the field for the first half, manned the goal in the third quarter.
With the win, UCLA closes out the regular season with a 20-3 overall record and an 8-1 mark in conference play. Pacific drops to 7-16 overall and 0-9 in the MPSF.
The Bruins will be in action again next week when they head to San Jose to participate in the MPSF Tournament from April 7-9.
