Top-ranked UCLA men's volleyball defeated unranked USC, 3-0, Wednesday night at the Lyon Center.
The Bruins (23-3, 15-2) won 30-24, 30-24, 30-24 in 88 minutes before 500 fans. The victory moved UCLA into a first-place tie with No.2 Pepperdine heading into Saturday's showdown in Malibu.
USC fell to 5-19 overall and 2-15 in league play.
Senior Matt Komer and freshman Paul Johnson led the Bruins with 12 kills each. Johnson hit .733 to lead a UCLA attack that hit .411 overall.
Satuirday's match between the Bruins and Waves begins at 7 p.m. The Bruins have won seven of the last 10 matches in Malibu, including four straight.
