The second-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team was defeated, 3-1, by No.3 Hawaii Friday night in Honolulu, HI.

Hawaii (18-6, 15-4) won 19-30, 30-26, 16-30, 25-30 in one hour and 58 minutes in front of 5,108 at the Stan Sheriff Center. UCLA, which lost its second straight match, fell to 23-5, 15-4 in league play.

Tomorrow night's match between the two teams will settle second place in the conference standings.

Junior Cameron Mount led the Bruins with 16 kills (.433) and freshman Paul Johnson added 14 (.400) with eight block assists. Senior Matt Komer had nine kills, four block assists and a career high of 15 digs.

UCLA was unable to contain Hawaii All-American Costas Theocharidis, who spiked 29 kills (.333) in 63 attempts. Senior Dejan Miladinovic added 13 kills (.455) and three total blocks. Delano Thomas led the Warriors with seven block assists and added eight kills (.412).

Hawaii out-blocked the Bruins, 12-8, and held a 64-55 edge in total kills. Hawaii also hit for a percentage of .314 to UCLA's .262.

Saturday's match between the Bruins and Warriors begins at 7 p.m. HST (9 p.m. PST) and will be available on the internet by accessing uclabruins.com or uhathletics.hawaii.edu.
