Box Score

Los Angeles, Calif. - UCLA sophomore guard Noelle Quinn scored a game-high 18 points, but it was not enough for the Bruins, who dropped a 73-60 decision to Love and Basketball in an exhibition game today on Nell and John Wooden Court in Pauley Pavilion. Love and Basketball, a group of former collegiate players who are now 4-0 on its exhibition tour, was paced by UCLA graduate Michelle Greco's 17-point effort.

The Bruins, who never led in the contest, struggled out of the gate and were able to shoot only 29% in the first half of play and fell behind 38-25 at the half. Junior guard Lisa Willis joined Quinn in double figures for UCLA with 12 points. Bruin freshman forward Lindsey Pluimer had nine of her 12 points in the second half and finished with a double-double in her first collegiate outing after pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Love and Basketball featured five former Bruins in its starting lineup -- Marie Philman (nine points), Sandra VanEmbricqs (six rebounds), Natalie Nakase (four steals), Gennifer Arranaga and Greco. Former USC standout Jessica Cheeks added 15 points for Love and Basketball.

UCLA will play next on Saturday, Nov. 13 when it hosts the West Coast All-Stars at 1 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins open up the season on Nov. 19 against TCU in the Miami, Fl Jam. The UCLA home opener is on Nov. 24 against Clemson at 7 p.m. in Pauley.
