
Williams and Prosser Fall in Second Match

Two days after stunning the top-ranked U.S. team of Jeff Nygaard and Dain Blanton, Australia's Mark Williams and Julien Prosser fell 2-1 to Patrick Heunscher and Stefan Kobel of Switzerland in second round pool play competition at the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Heunscher and Kobel won 16-21, 22-20, 15-9 in 56 minutes. Both teams are 1-1 entering their final pool play matches on Wednesday. Statistically, the match was even: both teams recorded 35 kills, 21 digs five aces and an ace. Kobel led both teams with 25 kills. Williams, a UCLA graduate, led his side with 17 kills, and added seven digs and two blocks. On Wednesday, Williams and Prosser meet John Child and Mark Heese and Kobel and Heunscher battle the USA's Nygaard and Blanton, who lost their second pool play match on Monday to Child and Heese.
