
Kristen Maloney Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Maloney led UCLA to a near-six point victory in a quad meet against Cal, Sacramento State and Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, winning the all-around with a career-high tying 39.75, the highest score in the nation this year. Maloney also won the uneven bars with a season-high 9.95 and balance beam with a 9.925 and tied for first on vault with a 9.925. She placed second on floor with a season-high 9.95, beaten only by Tasha Schwikert's perfect 10. UCLA scored a 197.15 in the meet, raising its season average to 196.5, good for a No. 1 national ranking. The Bruins also scored a season-high 49.6 on floor exercise.
This is Maloney's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
