Santa Cruz, Calif. - The fourth-ranked UCLA men's water polo team salvaged a split of its weekend road trip with a 13-2 victory over UC Santa Cruz on Sunday. The win improves UCLA to 16-5 overall, as the Bruins are now 9-0 on the season when scoring 10 or more goals in a match.
UC Santa Cruz was unable to stop UCLA's offensive arsenal, as nine different Bruins tallied goals in the match, led by junior attacker Logan Powell's three-goal performance.
Sophomore Brian Jacobs and freshman Russell Simpkins each tallied two goals apiece, and juniors Thomas Foley, Tyler Krikorian, James Palmer, and Grant Zider, and freshmen Chris Allen and Patrick Morrison chipped in one goal each.
Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Kellogg finished the match with six saves.
UCLA will next travel to No. 8 Long Beach State to take on the 49ers in a MPSF conference match on Sunday, Nov. 6 at noon.
