Santa Barbara, Calif. (AP) - Jessica Wilson had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 90-81 overtime victory over No. 24 UCLA on Saturday afternoon. Wilson forced overtime with a buzzer-beating layup at the end of regulation and scored 11 points in the overtime.
Jenna Green and LaShay Fears each had 20 points for the Gauchos (2-6), who outscored the Bruins 16-7 in the overtime.
Lisa Willis led all players with 28 points for UCLA (5-4). Nikki Blue added 13 points and seven assists for the Bruins, who were 1-for-7 from the field in the overtime.
The Bruins opened the second half with a 16-4 run to take a 16-point 51-35 lead after less than four minutes and led again by 16 with 11:50 to play. The Gauchos stormed back with a big 19-4 run of their own to close to one, 66-67, with 5:50 to play. A three-point play by Willis at 2:48 increased UCLA's lead to six, 74-68, but Santa Barbara got consecutive baskets from Fears and Autumn Nichols to close the gap to two with two minutes to play.
With UCLA up by two, Nichols fouled Blue with eight seconds to play. Blue missed both foul shots, and Wilson drove down the floor for the tying basket.
In the extra period, the Bruins struck first with a Blue free throw, but it was the last time UCLA would hold the lead.
