Junior middle blocker Nana Meriwether (Potomac, MD/Sidwell Friends HS) of the UCLA Women's Volleyball Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week (Nov. 28-Dec. 5).

Meriwether had two great matches in the opening weekend of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship, averaging 4.57 kills/game, 1.86 blocks/game and hitting .756 for the weekend. In Friday's first-round win over Kansas, she had 18 kills and one error on 24 attacks for a .708 attack percentage to go along with 10 blocks (2 BS/8 BA) for 24 points. Meriwether's totals led the team in kills, blocks and points. Her .708 attack percentage is third-best in UCLA history for a single-match performance with 20 or more attempts and 19th-best all-time with 10 or more attempts in a match. It was Meriwether's sixth match this season with double-figure blocks. In Saturday's second-round sweep over San Diego, Meriwether was error-free, hitting .824 on 14 kills with 17 error-free attacks, adding three blocks for a team-high 16 points.

This is Meriwether's second UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
