Golfers Split Two Matches at Match Play Championship

The fourth-ranked UCLA men's golf team split a pair of matches at the Callaway Match Play Championships Sunday. The Golf Coaches Assn. of America is hosting the tournament at Colonial CC in Fort Worth, Tex.

In the first round, UCLA defeated Auburn, 3-2-0 with freshman Jason Kang, junior Craig Leslie and sophomore Lucas Lee each winning their matches.

Kang defeated Glenn Northcutt 6 and 5, Leslie beat Steven Groover 4 and 3, and Lee won 3 and 2 against Andrew Medley. Sophomore James Lee and senior Peter Campbell lost their matches.

In the second round Kang won again, defeating Russell Helson 2 and 1, while Lee beat Dusty Smith 4 and 3. James Lee, freshman Charlie Harris and Leslie all lost giving Lamar the victory.
