Tess Schofield capped off the Bruins' competition at the Minnesota Invitational on Sunday with a win, as the sophomore won the tower event with a score of 259.90.

"I think Tess is starting to finally believe that when she stays fundamentally sound, really good things happen," said Dive Coach Tom Stebbins. "I loved watching her competitiveness take over in today's contest. After a small miss in the first round, Tess really got it rolling especially in the last two rounds."

"Overall the weekend was a great success," added Stebbins. "My team responded well to some very good competition and should be very comfortable when we return here in March for the NCAA Championships."

On Saturday, the Bruins finished second, third and fourth on one-meter with sophomore Marisa Samaniego leading the way. On the first day of competition, Friday, senior Sara Clark led the team with a second-place finish on three-meter.

UCLA finished eighth in team scoring with just the divers competing with a total of 119 points.

The swim and dive team will rest from competition for the next few weeks. They will then head to the Texas Invitational November 30 through December 2. Some swimmers may also compete at the U.S. Open in West Lafayette, IN.
