UCLA-Oklahoma Post-Game Quotes

November 21, 2006 | Women's Basketball

Recap |  Box Score

UCLA Head Coach Kathy Olivier
We are going to be in games because of Noelle Quinn. It was great to see her take over the game and bring us within seven. Oklahoma has its Courtney (Paris), and we have a player like that as well.

Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale
(on the team's outside shooting)
We're not a one-dimensional team. I wish they had taken the shots earlier in the game, though. It wouldn't have been as close if they had. You couldn't get better shots than we were passing up in the first half. We didn't make good decisions early, and it caught up to us.

We knew that them crashing the offensive boards was their strength, and we tried to defend against that.

(on what they talked about at halftime)
We talked about relaxing and trusting our instincts. We shot ourselves in the foot. We talked about having to own the rebounds and mainly about trusting our instincts in taking our shots, and the guards obviously did that in the second half.

Oklahoma center Courtney Paris
(on her foul trouble)
Of course I want to be out there, especially in a close game. I have to do a better job at adjusting to different types of officiating.
