
UCLA Drops 72-63 Decision At No. 23 New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM - No. 23 New Mexico took a one-point lead at halftime after going on a 11-4 scoring run and held on to defeat visiting UCLA, 72-63, on Saturday night in the championship game of the Southwest Airlines Lobo Shootout.
The win was the seventh straight for the Lobos (8-2). The loss snapped a three-game winning streak by the Bruins (6-5).
The Lobos were still clinging to a one-point advantage, 54-53, when Julie Briody scored seven straight points late in the second half.
Junior forward Lindsey Pluimer led the Bruins with a game-high 22 points and also recorded nine rebounds. Senior guard Noelle Quinn added 15 points and eight assists. Both players were named to the All-Tournament team. Senior forward Amanda Livingston had 10 points and 10 rebounds for her team-leading third double-double of the season.
Dionne Marsh led the Lobos with 21 points, and Tournament MVP Briody added 17.
