UCLA Blue Team Leads after Round One at Cougar Invitational

Play was suspended Monday because of darkness with several holes remaining in the second round at the Cougar Invitational, hosted by Cal State San Marcos at San Luis Rey Downs in Bonsall.

But the UCLA Blue Team was atop the leaderboard once again.

The Blues posted a one-under par score of 287 and held a nine-stroke lead over Pt. Loma-Nazarene after round one. The Bruins finished the second round Tuesday morning after posting a two-over par score of 290 for a 36-hole total of 577 (+1).

Individually, freshman Lucas Lee was leading the tournament with a five-under par total of 139 after posting rounds of 70-69. Sophomores Craig Leslie and Brandon Christianson were second at 145 (+1) after each carded rounds of 73-72. Sophomore Matt Marshall posted rounds of 71-77--146 (+5) and junior Peter Campbell shot scores of 75-79--154 (+10).

The final round will be completed on Tuesday.
