
Kristina Comforte Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Freshman Kristina Comforte (Burr Ridge, IL/Lyons Township HS) of the UCLA Women's Gymnastics team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week (Jan. 30-Feb. 5).
Comforte became the first gymnast in the nation to score a perfect 10 this season, earning a perfect mark on vault Friday evening at Cal State Fullerton with a flawless Yurchenko vault full. She also took first place on the uneven bars with a career-high 9.9 and was second in the all-around with a career-best 39.475. Comforte placed in the top 3 in every event. In addition to her vault and bar victories, she tied for third on beam with a 9.825 and on floor with a 9.75. Her scores helped lead UCLA to a 195.925 first-place mark, the Bruins' highest road total so far this season.
This is Comforte's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
