UCLA Downs Oregon State, 75-65

Corvallis, Ore. - The UCLA women's basketball team utilized a strong second-half effort by senior guard Noelle Quinn to come away with a 75-65 victory at Oregon State. Quinn scored 22 points in the game, including 16 in the second half. The teams changed leads 17 times until the Bruins pulled away in the final minutes.
Oregon State led by as many as six, 48-42, on a Casey Nash jumper with 11:20 to play and owned a 57-56 lead at 5:08 on a Nash jumper. The Bruins jumped out ahead just seven seconds later after a Quinn jumper that started a 16-6 UCLA run that sealed the victory . Quinn scored 12 of her 22 points in the final 5:01 of the game. Down by just four with 2:32 to play, the Beavers had a chance to close to within one after Jasmine Smith was fouled on a three-point attempt, but she made just one of three foul shots. Oregon State never got closer.
The two teams were tied at halftime, 36-36, after Oregon State erased an eight-point UCLA lead at the 2:48 mark.
Quinn led all players in points, rebounds (9) and assists (7). Lindsey Pluimer added 17 points with three boards and four assists. Amanda Livingston contributed 14 points with five rebounds, and Tierra Henderson scored 10 points with four rebounds and four assists. Nash led Oregon State with 17 points. The Bruins shot 54.5% (30-55) from the Field and 87.5% (14-16) from the free throw line. UCLA also won the battle of the boards, 36-25.
"We showed great focus as a basketball team," said UCLA head coach Kathy Olivier. "Noelle Quinn led the way, and she was just willing them to win. We had excellent focus defensively; I was really impressed with that. It was a great team effort tonight."
UCLA improves its record to 13-12, 7-6 in the Pac-10. Oregon State drops to 8-13, 3-9.
