SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 2 UCLA men's water polo team earned an 11-5 victory at No. 11 Santa Clara on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match. The Bruins (10-2) received two goals from senior Scott Davidson, juniors Ben Hohl and Emilio Vieira and sophomore Cullen Hennessy.

Santa Clara (13-5) received a game-high four goals from Jack Wall.

The host Broncos assumed a 3-0 lead through the first quarter, as Wall scored at the 7:13, 1:58 and 1:18 marks.

UCLA outscored Santa Clara by a 4-0 margin in the second period to assume a 4-3 lead. With 2:11 to play in the first half, the Bruins scored the go-ahead goal.

The Bruins pushed their cushion to 7-5 through three quarters and outscored the Broncos by a 4-0 margin in the final frame to secure the 11-5 victory.

Senior goalkeeper Chay Lapin registered nine saves in goal for the visiting Bruins.

UCLA returns to action at the UCI Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Bruins will face Redlands at Corona del Mar High School at 8:30 a.m.
