Second-Round Rally Gives UCLA a Championship Berth

The 19th-ranked UCLA men's golf team was tied for eighth place after 36 holes on Saturday in a tournament hosted at Southern Highlands CC in Las Vegas.

In the second round, the Bruins posted a team score of 293 (+5) for a two-round total of 589 (+13), tied with No.2 USC. Oklahoma State posted a single round score of 270 (-18) and took the 36-hole lead at 561 (-15). Host UNLV was second at 573 (-3), followed by third place Arizona at even par 576.

Individually for the Bruins, freshman Gregor Main posted an even par 72 and was tied for 16th at one-over par 145. Main was three-under par after 16 holes, but played the final two holes in three-over par. Sophomore Philip Francis and freshman Beau Schoolcraft each played the final three holes in two-under par. Schoolcraft posted a 72 (E) and was tied for 31st at four-over par 148 and Francis carded a 73 (+1) and was tied for 24th at 147 (+3). Senior Erik Flores was tied for 37th at 149 (+5) after posting a score of 74 (+2). Sophomore Connor Driscoll was tied for 65th at 156 (+12) following a round of 76 (+4).

Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffmann fired a 10-under par 62 on Saturday and took the 36-hole lead at 134 (-10).
