No. 4 Stanford scored the game's first eight points and never let No. 8 UCLA get much closer, defeating the Bruins by a 64-38 margin in Maples Pavilion. This was the first time a Top 10-ranked Bruins team had faced another Top 10 team since 1999.

Stanford's inside game was dominant, as the much taller Cardinal outrebounded the Bruins, 44-27, and outscored the Bruins in the paint, 32-12. Stanford also had a 12-2 advantage in second-chance points. The Bruins did not help their cause, shooting a season-low 29.4% from the field.

UCLA made a push late in the game with a 14-2 run that trimmed a 35-point lead to 23, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Jasmine Dixon led the Bruins with 12 points and six rebounds. Darxia Morris added nine points. Kayla Pedersen led three Stanford players in double-figure scoring with 18 points. She also had 10 rebounds.

Stanford improves its record to 15-2, 6-0 in the conference. UCLA falls to 15-2, 5-1 in the Pac-10. The Bruins will play at California on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 2 pm.
