
Silva Leads Divers On Second Day Of Bruin Invitational

Karina Silva led the divers on day two of the Bruin Invitational as the senior was the top fimisher on one-meter for UCLA. She placed second with a score of 274.20. All five Bruin divers advanced to the final of the event.
Senior Laura Winn was third overall with a score of 264.05. Freshmen Paulina Guzman (257.55) and Haley McNamara (256.75) finished right behind each other, while sophomore Maggy Boyd was 11th (251.70).
In the semifinal round, Guzman was the top finisher, placing second with a score of 276.55. McNamara was fourth (261.45), Silva was sixth (259.70), Boyd was seventh (259.05) and Winn was 12th (246.35).
The prelim round saw McNamara finish seventh overall (257.70), while Silva was eighth (250.58), Guzman was ninth (249.55), Winn was 12th (237.60) and Boyd was 17th (226.25).
Tomorrow the diving competition concludes with the tower event. It will be the final home meet for senior Laura Winn and Karina Silva.
