
Bruins Tied for Sixth in Georgia

The third-ranked UCLA men's golf team was tied for sixth place following the opening round of the U.S. Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, GA.
Auburn and USC held the first round lead at six-under par 282, followed by Duke at 283 (-5). Georgia Tech was fourth at 284 (-4) and Florida State was fifth at 286 (-2). The Bruins were tied with Washington at even par 288.
On the individual front, sophomore Patrick Cantlay was tied for fifth place after posting a score of 69 (-3) in round one. Junior Mario Clemens was tied for ninth after carding a 70 (-2). Junior Pontus Widegren was tied for 37th at 74 (+2), followed by senior Alex Shi Yup Kim in a tie for 43rd at 75 (+3). Junior Pedro Figueiredo was tied for 51st after posting a 76 (+4).
USC's Steve Lim was the first round individual leader after carding a six-under par 66 Sunday.
