Winn Advances To Platform Final At USA National Championships

Senior diver Laura Winn qualified for her first ever senior final on Thursday after a fantastic day of diving on platform at the USA Diving National Championships in Iowa City, IA.

Winn first competed on Thursday morning in the quarterfinals and advanced to her first ever semifinal after scoring 276.90 (9th overall). Once in the semifinal, Winn put together a great list of dives and ended up scoring a lifetime-best of 289.25. With her scores from the quarterfinal and semifinal combined, the senior finished 10th overall (566.15) to advance to the first senior final in her career. She will compete on Saturday at 1:00 pm (CST).

Also in the platform event, incoming freshman Emma Ivory-Ganja finished 22nd in the quarterfinal with a score of 255.65 to advance to the semis. Once in the semi, Ivory-Ganja finished 15th with a score of 536.70 (281.05 for second list), but does not advance to the final.

On Wednesday in the semifinal of the one-meter springboard, freshman Paulina Guzman finished 22nd overall with a score of 218.95).
