The 8th ranked UCLA men's volleyball team ended its 2011 regular season with a 3-1 loss to the Pepperdine Waves.

The Bruins finished the season at 16-14 on the year and 9-13 in MPSF play, good for an 8th place finish in the conference. On the other side, Pepperdine finished 11-15 overall and 7-15 in conference play. Game scores were 25-19, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-23.

Junior Weston Dunlap and freshman Gonzalo Quiroga led the Bruins with 11 kills and 3 block assists apiece in the loss. Dunlap served two aces in the match as well to give him a team-leading 14.5 points. Juniors Kyle Caldwell and Jeremy Casebeer were right behind them with 10 kills each while senior Tom Hastings led the team with 7 digs.

Overall, the Bruins hit just .268 while the Waves hit .396. UCLA was also plagued by 26 attack errors despite outkilling Pepperdine 56-50. The Bruins also committed 17 service errors in the match. Maurice Torres led the Waves with 18 kills.

The Bruins will be back on the court on Saturday, April 23rd against crosstown rivals USC in the first round of the MPSF Playoffs. Gametime is slated for 7:00 p.m. PT at the Galen Center. The two teams met have twice already this season with the Trojans taking both matches. UCLA leads the all-time series 86-38.
