
Track & Field Heads to Austin for NCAA Preliminary Round

The men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Austin, TX to compete in the NCAA West Preliminary Round May 24-26. The meet serves as the opening round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The top 48 athletes in each event (top 27 relays) will be competing with the goal of advancing to the NCAA meet in Des Moines, IA June 6-10. The top 12 finishers in each event advance to NCAAs.
Both squads will be sending 13 athletes for individual events, while the women's team will send a 4x400m relay team and the men will compete in the 4x100m relay.
Below is a list of athletes, their events and rank in the West Region heading into the meet.
The men's team already has one athlete into the NCAA Championships, Marcus Nilsson, who will be competing in the decathlon. He will head into the meet ranked 20th with a score of 7539 points.
