Five UCLA Players Secure ACWPC All-America Acclaim

LOS ANGELES - Seniors KK Clark and Caitlin Dement highlight a list of five UCLA women's water polo players who have earned ACWPC All-America accolades. Clark and Dement captured first-team All-America honors.

Junior Emily Greenwood earned third-team All-America acclaim. Senior Sarah Orozco and sophomore Becca Dorst were named honorable mention All-America selections.

Clark finished the season leading UCLA in goals (58), steals (40) and field blocks (17). Hailing from Atherton, Calif., she scored at least one goal in 25 of 27 matches. Clark finished the season with 28 assists and 35 earned exclusions.

Dement earned first-team All-America acclaim after having been named MPSF Player of the Year. She logged a 5.60 goals against average and totaled 250 saves in all 27 matches.

Dement finished her career ranking first and second on UCLA's single-season saves list. She logged a school-record 264 saves in 2010 before following that effort with a second-best 250 saves in 2012.

Greenwood and Dorst tied for third on the team with 27 goals. Greenwood concluded her junior season with a team-leading 73 earned exclusions. She was fourth on the squad with 28 steals.

Dorst converted on nearly 43 percent of her shot attempts, scoring 27 goals on 63 opportunities. She registered 32 steals, 16 field blocks, 14 assists and 17 earned exclusions.

Orozco capped her senior season with 28 goals, the second-highest total on the team. She also recorded 36 earned exclusions, 11 steals, nine field blocks and seven assists.

Stanford's Kiley Neushul earned ACWPC Division I Player of the Year honors. Stanford's John Tanner was named the ACWPC Division I Coach of the Year.
