Alumna Acuff Qualifies for Fifth Olympic Games

Bruin alumna Amy Acuff has qualified for her fifth Olympic Games after finishing third in the high jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR on the penultimate day of the qualifying meet.
Acuff retired in 2009 after having a child, but has returned to form to qualify for her fifth Olympic Games. She has competed in the last four consecutive Olympic Games, with her highest finish coming in 2004 at the Athens Games when she placed fourth overall. Acuff was clean on the first three heights and then needed three attempts at the next two bars to earn a spot in London.
Also on Saturday, men's track and field alum Kevin Craddock narrowly missed a spot in the 110m hurdles final as he finished ninth overall with a time of 13.42. He was just .05 seconds shy of making the final.
On Saturday, Turquoise Thompson will be competing in the 400m hurdles final on the last day of the Trials.
