Bruins Finish Up Strong in Oregon

The #2-ranked UCLA Men's Golf Team continued to build on their experience Sunday at the Bandon Dunes Championship, as the team of underclassmen improved their score for the second consecutive round. The Bruins, after besting their first round score by seven strokes on day two, continued their progress by shooting 289 (+1) during the final 18. The score left UCLA with a three-day total of 882 (+18), tied for 5th with #14 SMU.
The continued Bruin surge was lead by Reilly McMahon recorded birdies on holes three and four to finish strong and card a 76 (+4)
It was an action-packed final day at the Old Macdonald Course of the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, as Colorado held off efforts from Fresno State with a 278 (-10) and #3 Washington at 279 (-9) to with the tourney with a total overall score of 862 (-2). Even though the Bruins finished fifth, it was a valuable experience for the young squad, as the next generation of UCLA golf showed their mettle.
UCLA will be back in action March 25th, as the Bruins compete in the Anteater Invitational in Irvine, CA.
