Senior Michelle Vale, junior Paulina Guzman and sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja head to Colorado Springs for the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, which run from Thursday through Saturday at the Air Force Academy campus.
Guzman and Vale are each competing in their third NCAA Zone Championships, while Ivory-Ganja, the Bruins' best finisher last year, is in her second straight Zones.
On Thursday, Three-Meter preliminaries begin at 11 a.m., while the finals start at 1:45 p.m. The meet continues on Friday with the One-Meter prelims at 11 a.m. and the finals at 1:45 p.m. The platform event concludes the weekend on Saturday with prelims at 11 a.m. and finals at 12:30 p.m.
A total of 55 divers from 24 schools are entered in the Three- and One-Meter events and 43 divers are entered in the Platform. The top four divers from the Three-Meter, top three from the One-Meter and top two from the Platform are guaranteed spots in next week's NCAA Championships (March 21-23) in Indianapolis.
If one or more divers earn multiple guaranteed spots, an alternates list will be used in the following order: One-Meter fourth place, Three-Meter fifth place, Platform third place, One-Meter fifth place, Three-Meter sixth place, One-Meter sixth place, Platform fourth place, Three-Meter seventh place, One-Meter seventh place, Three-Meter eighth place, Platform fifth place.
