COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the first time since 2009, a UCLA diver will represent the Bruins at the NCAA Championships, as sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja placed fourth in the Three-Meter on Thursday to qualify for next week's NCAA's.

Ivory-Ganja, who was third after the initial six preliminary dives with a total of 326.20, produced a score of 314.30 over her final six attempts to finish fourth (640.50), just .50 out of third.

Ivory-Ganja becomes the first Bruin diver since 2009 (Marisa Samaniego and Tess Schofield) to advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held next Thursday through Saturday in Indianapolis.

Senior Michelle Vale just missed the Top 18 cut, finishing 21st with a six-dive preliminary score of 272.75. Junior Paulina Guzman was 24th with a prelim total of 268.65.

The NCAA Zone E Championships continue on Friday with the One-Meter competition. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. PT and the finals are at 12:45 p.m. Zones wrap up on Saturday with the Platform, beginning at 10 a.m. with the prelims (11:30 a.m. finals).
