Four-year letterwinner in water polo and three-year letterwinner in swimming at Punahou High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, under his father Ken Smith and Jeff Meister, respectively...captured All-America first-team honors as a senior...was a Junior Olympic All-America selection...also garnered ILH Player of the Year accolades in 2002...was named Hawaii Player-of-the-Year three times...twice named to the All-ILH team...helped lead Punahou to three ILH titles during his career, including an undefeated season in 2002...led ILH in goals, assists, and steals as a senior...named Punahou Athlete of the Year...in swimming competition, captured the state title in 100-yard freestyle and was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle.
