Six Pac-12 women's basketball players received national recognition from the Associated Press today. UCLA senior Markel Walker was one of five Pac-12 players to receive honorable mention All-America honors. Stanford's Chiney Ogwumike was the lone first team representative from the Pac-12.

Walker was named All-Pac-12 for the second straight year while leading the Pac-12 in assists (5.7 apg) in 2012-13. She was also named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team while ranking fourth in the league in steals (2.5 spg). She was third on the team and 25th in the Pac-12 in scoring (10.6 ppg) and was second on the aquad and 11th in the league in rebounding (7.2 rpg).

A junior forward from Stanford, Ogwumike led the Cardinal to a seventh-straight Pac-12 Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen. Ogwumike led the Conference with 22.4 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. Those averages also rank seventh and fifth, respectively, in the nation. Ogwumike led the nation with 28 double-doubles.

Joining Walker on the honorable mention list was California's Gennifer Brandon and Layshia Clarendon, who have led the Golden Bears to the program's first-ever appearance in the Final Four. Rounding out the five to receive honorable mention plaudits were Colorado's Chucky Jeffery and Utah's Michelle Plouffe.
