
Golfers Own the Lead Entering Final Round in Washington

The Bruins posted rounds of 296 (+8) and 280 (-8) on the Olympic Course for an even par score of 576, and held a one-stroke lead over San Diego State (577, +1). UC Davis and Oregon were tied for third at 580 (+4), followed by fifth place New Mexico at 582 (+6).
Knapp fired rounds of 71-67—138 (-6) and led the field by one stroke. Juniors Jonathan Garrick and Lorens Chan were tied for 11th place at 145 (+1). Chan posted rounds of 77-68 and Garrick recorded scores of 75-70. Senior Matt Pinizzotto was tied for 34th at 149 (+5) after carding rounds of 74-75, and freshman Brandon Mai was tied for 44th at eight-over 152 after signing for a pair of 76s.
In the individual-only competition on the Cascade Course, senior Manav Shah was in second place at 136 (-6) after firing rounds of 70-66. Senior Preston Valder recorded a pair of 71s and was in fifth place at even par 142. Tied for ninth place was senior Kyle Pollema at three-over par 145 after posting scores of 72-73, and senior Jay Hwang was tied for 11th at 146 (+4) following rounds of 74-72. Freshmen Victor Ponte and Brandon Mai were tied for 23rd at seven-over par 149. Ponte carded rounds of 73-76 and Mai posted scores of 76-73.
