Polyakova Sweeps Springboard at USC

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After winning Friday's 3-meter event, Maria Polyakova swept the springboard events at the Trojan Diving Invitational when she won the 1-meter event on Saturday. The Bruin sophomore posted a 591.35, finishing 46 points ahead of second-place Annika Lenz.
Joining Polyakova and Lenz in the top five was Ciara Monahan, who recorded a 481.55 to finish fifth. Freshman Kat Friese recorded her first top-10 finish as a Bruin. After posting a 222.25 in prelims Saturday morning, the newcomer placed 10th with a 445.
The Trojan Diving Invitational concludes Sunday with the Platform Event. Action begins at 11:00 a.m. PST.
