The Bruins didn't drop a set in a sweep of CSU Bakersfield on opening day.

PISMO BEACH, Calif.,ย -- No. 2/3 UCLA (1-0) opened the 2017 season on Thursday morning withย a 5-0 sweep of CSU Bakersfield (0-1) at Pismo Beach, Calif., markingย the fourth-straight season that the Bruins have won their season opener.
On court one, sophomores Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara easily dispatched the pair of Carol Grasso and Sara Little, 21-13, 21-9.
The Bruins' pair of freshman Madi Yeomans and senior Kamila Tan took down CSU Bakersfield's Jocelyn Rodriguez and Ashley Prater on court two in straight sets, 21-6, 21-13.
UCLA's freshman tandem of Torrey Van Winden and Savvy Simoย didn't allow their opponents, Sarah Garrow and Mattison DeGarmoย on court three to get to double digits either set, winning 21-9, 21-6.
Court four saw the Bruins' pair of sophomore Izzy Carey and junior Elise Zappia dismantle CSUB'sย Madi Busler and Hannah Manzanares, 21-8, 21-5.
Another Bruin freshman duo of Chanti Holroyd and Lily Justine won in straight sets over the Roadrunners' Ally Barber and Kayla Tinker, 21-10, 21-19.
The Bruins return to action later today when they face the hosts, Cal Poly.
