ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Sophomore Phil Delisi is under par after two rounds at the Cal Poly Shootout, posting an even-par 72 and a 1-under 71 in his 36 holes at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course on Monday.
Delisi had a great stretch during round one, making five birdies in a row on holes #17, #18, #1, #2 and #3. He had seven birdies in his opening round, also gaining strokes on #7 and #13, while making four bogeys and a triple. In round two, Delisi had three birdies on #4, #5 and #7 to go with a pair of bogeys. He is currently tied for 15th (-1, 143).
Freshman Scott Mitchell is tied for 47th (+10, 154), as he was six strokes better from his morning round to his afternoon trip. He made just one birdie, on the 18th, during his 8-over 80, making seven bogeys and a double. Things got better in round two for Mitchell, who birdied #14, #3, #5 and #9, adding four bogeys and a double for a 2-over 74.
Freshman Harrison Mahon is tied for 54th (+14, 158) after rounds of 81 (+9) and 77 (+5). He made one birdie on the 18th in his first round, with four bogeys and two triples. In round two, Mahon birdied the seventh and 11th to go with five bogeys and a double.
Delisi begins his final round at 9 a.m. on the 10th tee, with Mahon and Mitchell in the following group. Live scoring will be available here.
