LOS ANGELES โ Senior Kennedy Burke tallied 20 points, six rebounds and three assists, as the UCLA women's basketball team charged to a 71-59 win over Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.

Playing in front of 2,501 fans, UCLA shot a season-best 52.5 percent (31-for-59) from the field. The Bruins also outscored the Cowgirls by 32 (50-18) in the paint and outrebounded them by 18 in the second half to even its record to 5-5 on the season.

Burke did her damage on 9-for-14 shooting, scoring on strong drives to the hoop and nifty buckets that included a last-second alley-oop to cap the third quarter.

Senior Lajahna Drummer also played big, scoring a season-high 12 points to go along with 10 rebounds for her fourth career double-double. Sophomore Michaela Onyenwere added 16 points and six rebounds, while redshirt freshman Lindsey Corsaro posted eight points and four assists.

UCLA forced Oklahoma State to start 1-for-8 from the field and jumped to an early 14-4 advantage after a layup by Corsaro. The Bruins got work done inside thanks to Drummer, who mustered six points and four boards in the first quarter.

After the Cowgirls (7-2) pulled to within three (24-21) early in the second frame, the Bruins fired back with a 7-2 run to push their lead to eight (31-23), as Burke notched an and-one and then sophomore Chantel Horvat converted on a strong take to the hoop.

The Bruins entered the locker room up two, led by Burke's 11 first-half points. UCLA shot 51.7 percent in the opening 20 minutes and outscored Oklahoma State in the paint, 22-12.
