LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's basketball team took a 31-point lead into the locker room and never looked back in an 81-35 victory over Cal Poly on Friday night at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.

UCLA (7-5) held Cal Poly (3-8) to just 17.5 percent (10-for-57) shooting and 35 points – both of which were season lows for the Bruin defense. The Bruins also extended their winning streak to four games and eclipsed the 80-point mark for the third time this season.

Three players scored in double figures, led by senior Japreece Dean's 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting. She also had seven rebounds and three assists. Senior Lajahna Drummer collected her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while senior Kennedy Burke went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field for 15 points.

The Storyline
UCLA opened the game on fire, starting 7-for-11 from the field to race to a 15-0 lead. The Bruins were just as stout on the defensive end, as they forced Cal Poly to start 0-for-5 and held the Mustangs without a point until the 4:27 mark of the first quarter.

Led by nine points from Dean, UCLA outscored Cal Poly 23-8 in the opening 10 minutes, shooting 64.7 percent from the floor and scoring 13 points off nine Mustang turnovers.

Four straight points by Drummer and a trey by Dean capped a 9-0 UCLA run to make it 34-10 Bruins, and redshirt freshman Lindsey Corsaro later drilled another 3-pointer to extend the advantage to 39-12 with 4:08 left in the first half.

UCLA went on to shoot 67.7 percent (21-for-31) to score a season-high 48 points in the opening 20 minutes. Dean finished with 14 first-half points, while Burke had 12.

The Bruins picked up right where they left off in the third, getting a corner three from Burke to go up 52-20. UCLA forced Cal Poly to go 1-for-7 to close the third and help stretch the advantage to 69-33.

UCLA nearly forced Cal Poly to go scoreless in the fourth quarter, holding the Mustangs without a point for the final 9:42 of the affair, and the Bruins closed the blowout with a 12-0 run to ice the victory.
