The Bruins advance to the semifinals of the championship bracket of the 2018 Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship.

STANFORD, Calif.ย -- No. 1 UCLA extended its school-record dual match winning streak to 28 on Friday afternoon with a 5-0ย sweep over No. 4 Stanford (17-12) in the Bruins' second match of the 2018 Pac-12 Championship at Stanford's Beach Volleyball Stadium.
The Bruins, who improved to 33-3 on the year, return to action tomorrow againstย No. 2 USC in the semifinals of the championship bracket at 9:00 a.m. PTย on the Pac-12 Networks. The Trojans advanced with a 4-1 win over No. 3 California.
The Bruins opened the dual with Stanford with a win on court five as junior Izzy Carey and freshman Megan Muretย extended their school-record winning streak to 28 matches, defeating Shannon Richardson and Blake Sharp in straight sets, 21-14, 21-14.
Then on court four,ย senior Elise Zappiaย and freshman Mac May put the Bruins up 2-0 with a 21-15, 21-13 win over the Cardinal's Cait Keefe and Payton Chang.
As they did yesterday, juniors Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara sealed the dual match victory with a straight-set win on court one over Stanford's Courtney Bowen and Sunny Villapando, 21-12, 21-13.
Sophomoresย Madi Yeomans and Savvy Simoย made it 4-0 Bruins with a straight-set win on court three over Kate Formico and Cat Raquel, 21-15, 21-10.
Junior Sarah Sponcil and sophomore Lily Justine completed the sweep over Stanford with a 21-19, 21-16 win on court two over Morgan Hentz and Amelia Smith.
