BRYAN, TEXAS - The 26th-ranked Bruins remain in fourth place following 36 holes at the NCAA Bryan Regional, shooting a second-straight, even-par 288 on Tuesday at the Traditions Club. UCLA (E, 576) trails Texas A&M (-18, 558), Clemson (-17, 559) and Baylor (-6, 570), but are three ahead of fifth-place Ole Miss (+3, 579) and 11 strokes above the cutline for advancing to the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Okla. later this month. South Carolina sits in sixth (+11, 587), with the top five teams after Wednesday's play advancing to the Karsten Creek Golf Club.
Freshman Devon Bling had the round of the day for the Bruins with a 3-under 69. He is tied for 11th, along with teammate Cole Madey at -2 (142). Starting on the back nine, Bling was bogey-free with three birdies on No. 10, 17 and 18. Following a bogey on No. 4, the freshman posted his fourth birdie of the day at the eighth.
Madey shot a 1-over 73 in round two. The junior made one birdie on the fifth and a pair of bogeys. Sophomore Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 32nd (+3, 147), posting a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. He made a pair of birdies on No. 16 and 5, two bogeys and a double. Freshman Eddy Lai is tied for 37th (+4, 148), recording a 3-over 75. He made one birdie on the sixth, two bogeys and a double. Senior Tyler Collier is tied for 40th (+5, 149), notching an even-par 72 on three birdies (No. 15, 4 and 6) and three bogeys.
The Bruins will open their final round of the Bryan Regional at 8 a.m. CT/6 a.m. PT off the 10th tee in the order of Collier, Lai, Yoshihara, Bling and Madey. Live scoring will be available here.
