No. 2 UCLA Wins at No. 6 Pacific, 8-5

The Bruins were led by sophomore Nicolas Saveljic and sophomore Felix Brozyna-Vilim who each scored two goals. Redshirt junior Alex Wolf got the start in the cage and went the distance, registering 12 saves while allowing five goals.
Senior David Stiling put the Bruins on the board first with a strike from the front court (6:30). Engin Ege Colak scored from the front court for the Tigers (3:48) to tie the game at 1-1. Then Luis Araya scored a power play goal to give Pacific a 2-1 lead (2:56). Freshman Ashworth Molthen set up Brozyna-Vilim for the tying score (0:15) to end the first quarter at 2-2.
Freshman Jake Cavano scored a power play goal (6:04) to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead to open the second quarter. Araya tied the game at 3-3 with his second score of the contest on a power play (1:41). Senior Austin Rone scored a goal at even strength (0:58) to put the Bruins up 4-3. Then Saveljic extended the lead to 5-3 with a counter attack score (0:15). That score would hold up till the break.
Sophomore Evan Rosenfeld opened the scoring in the third period with an exclusion goal (6:54) to double up the Tigers, 6-3. Luke Pavillard scored on a counter for the Tigers (1:53) and then Ege Colak scored his second (1:23) to cut the lead to just 6-5, ending the scoring in the period.
The Bruins pitched a shutout in the fourth period. Saveljic scored his second of the game on a penalty shot (7:35) to open the scoring in the fourth quarter, giving the Bruins a 7-5 lead. Then Saveljic set up Brozyna-Vilim for his second score at two meters (3:09) to provide the 8-5 final.
The Bruins return to action on Sunday, Sept. 30 when they travel to take on No. 8 UC Davis (7-3) at 12:00 p.m. PT at Schaal Aquatics Center.
