The Bruins were led by sophomore Nicolas Saveljic who had a season-high four goals. Two other Bruins, senior Kent Inoue and redshirt junior Raphael Raede, each completed hat tricks against the Seahawks. All three Bruin goalkeepers saw action as redshirt junior Alex Wolf received his first action of the season, playing the entire first half while registering six saves and allowing two goals. Freshman Danny Roland played the third period and recorded four saves while surrendering three goals. Redshirtย junior Jonathan Van De Veldeย played the fourth quarter, tallying two saves while giving up one goal.
The Bruins held a 4-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Redshirt freshman Peter Lovas got the Bruins on the board first (7:11). Sophomore Quinten Osborne broke a 1-1 tie with a power play goal (6:09) and then the Bruins got goals fromย Saveljic (3:22) and Travisano (PP, 0:46) to end the scoring in the first period.
UCLA built a 10-2 lead by halftime. Osborne scored his second of the game on the first possession of the second quarter (7:43). Then redshirt freshman Bailey Jarvis made it five unanswered goals with a power play strike (5:45). After a goal by the Seahawks (4:02), UCLA reeled off another four consecutive scores. Sophomore Felix Brozyna-Vilimย scored to make it 7-2 (2:59) and then Jarvis added his second goal on a power play (2:08). Travisanoย notched his second of the game (1:00) to push the lead to 9-2 and freshman Ashworth Molthenย scored his first with 0:20 left in the quarter.
The Bruins won the third period 4-3, to take a 14-5 lead into the final stanza. Saveljic completed his hat trick with back-to-back scores to open the third (7:10 and 6:25). UCLA would lead 14-3 after goals from Inoue (2:59) and Raede (2:01). Wagner scored the final two goals of the third (1:48 and 1:04).
UCLA put seven goals on the board in the final period while allowing the Seahawks just one score. The Bruins scored the first five goals of the period with Molthenย netting his second of the game (6:48). Saveljicย scored his fourth of the game (5:22) to put UCLA up 16-5. Then Raedeย completed his hat trick with back-to-back goals (4:23 and 3:37). Inoue scored his second of the contest (2:50) to push the lead to 19-5. After a goal by Wagner, Bruin freshman Matthew Kacuraย scored on a penalty shot (1:25). Inoue completed his hat trick with a goal with :29 remaining to provide the 21-6 final.
