The Bruins were led by sophomore Nicolas Saveljic who scored three goals. Freshman Danny Roland played the entire game in the cage for the Bruins, recording a season-high 13 saves while allowing six goals.
UCLA led 5-1 at the end of the first period. Five different Bruins scored a goal in the opening stanza, beginning with three straight power play goals from sophomores Quinten Osborne and Evan Rosenfeld and freshman Matthew Kacura. Then after Saveljic converted on a penalty shot, redshirt freshman Peter Lovas scored from the front court to end the scoring in the first period.
The Bruins won the second period, 3-1, to take an 8-2 lead into the break. Kacura scored his second of the game on a counter attack, Saveljic added his second on a power play and Rosenfeld netted his second on a counter to end the scoring in the first half.
UCLA pitched a shutout in the third quarter while posting four on the board to lead 12-2 heading into the fourth. Sophomore Felix Brozyna-Vilim scored twice from two meters and sophomore Luke Henriksson scored on a strike from the front court. Saveljic would then complete his hat trick before the end of the period on a counter.
Another four goals followed for the Bruins in the fourth, but the Falcons found the back of the net four times as well, twice on power plays and once on a penalty shot, to provide the 16-6 final. Freshman Ashworth Molthen opened the period with a goal on a 6-on-5 opportunity followed by a goal on a nice drive and finish from senior Kent Inoue. Redshirt fresman Bailey Jarvis became the 10th Bruin to score when he found the back of the net on a power play. Lovas ended the scoring with his second goal of the game from the front court.
