UCLA's 1600m relay team took first place on Saturday afternoon, and the UCLA track & field team returned home from a pair of meets in Arizona this weekend – the Willie Williams Classic and Baldy Castillo Invitational.
 
The quartet of Cameron Stone, Leon Powell, Damion Marshall and Joe Herrera combined for a time of 3:08.94, well ahead of the second-place foursome from Arizona (3:10.18). Meanwhile, the women placed fifth in the event with a time of 3:51.02, led by Dakota Stanly, Kyrah Johnson, Jade Hinds and Nyree Brown.
 
Stone, a transfer from Oregon, also had success in the 400m, taking second with a time of 46.74.
 
In the women's 100m dash, Suzie Acolatse placed first with a time of 11.73, just short of her PR of 11.65.

Otito Ogbonnia won the men's shot put, recording a throw of 18.09m (59-4.25) on this third attempt, while Jacob Wilson placed third with a mark of 17.11m (56-1.75).

Munir Kabbara made his freshman debut in the 1500m, placing third with a time of 3:52.73. 

In the women's triple jump, Jazmin Moss, a transfer out of UCSB, placed third, tallying a mark of 11.63m (38-2). 
 
At the Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, the UCLA men's pole vaulters capped the meet, as Michael Fancey (4.91m) and Kyle Brown (4.71m), placed 10th and 12th, respectively.
 
Next Meet
UCLA will compete at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego on March 22.
