LOS ANGELES -- No. 2 USC (27-4) handed No. 1 UCLA (30-2) its second loss of the season with a 3-2 win in the winner's bracket final of the Pac-12 Championship on Friday night at USC's Merle Norman Stadium.

The first wave featured flights four and five as the two teams split the pair of matches in the dual. The Bruins scored the first point as senior Izzy Carey and freshman Lindsey Sparks took down the Trojans' Cammie Dorn and Mollie Ebertin in straight sets on court five, 21-15, 21-10.

The Trojans tied it at 1-1 on court four as Joy Dennis and Maja Kaiser snapped the 13-match winning streak of junior Savvy Simo and sophomore Lea Monkhouse in straight sets, 21-15, 21-16.

The second wave featured flights one, two, and three from both squads. UCLA's court two pair of senior Sarah Sponcil and junior Lily Justine put the Bruins up 2-1 with a straight-set win over Terese Cannon and Sammy Slater, 21-19, 21-17.

Seconds later, USC's court three tandem of Haley Hallgren and Alexandra Poletto defeated the Bruins' senior Zana Muno and freshman Abby Van Winkle, 21-18, 21-19, tying the dual at 2-2.

The dual came down to a three-set thriller on court one with the Trojans' Tina Graudina and Abril Bustamante defeating UCLA's Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara, 21-13, 18-21, 15-10.

The Bruins will now face No. 3 California in tomorrow's contender's bracket final at 11:00 a.m. PT. Should the Bruins win that dual, they will face the Trojans in a rematch for the Pac-12 Championship at 1:30 p.m. PT. Both duals will be broadcast by the Pac-12 Networks.
