SARATOGA, Calif. -- No. 3 UCLA (21-4, 4-1) posted a 13-3 win at No. 18 San Jose State (9-12, 1-3) on Sunday afternoon at West Valley College.

The Bruins were led by junior Bronte Halligan who scored a season-high and career-high-tying four goals (on four shots). Senior Carlee Kapana got the starting nod in the cage for UCLA and played the first half, registering five saves while allowing two goals. Sophomore Jahmea Bent came on in relief in the second half and tallied seven saves while surrendering one goal.

Halligan scored the only goal of the first period with a strike from the front court (1:23).

UCLA built a 6-2 lead by halftime with five goals in the second period. Halligan added one score in the period (6:26), as did Roxy Wheaton (7:16), Lizette Rozeboom (3:21), Ava Johnson (2:09) and Lexi Liebowitz (1:31).

The Bruins won the third period, 3-1, to extend their lead to 9-3. Halligan completed her hat trick to open the scoring in the third (7:18), followed by a score from Maddie Musselman (5:31) and one from Val Ayala (1:53).

The fourth quarter was all UCLA as the Bruins won the period 4-0 to provide the 13-3 final. Halligan opened the quarter with her fourth goal of the game (6:36), followed by a second goal from Musselman on a penalty shot (5:24). Senior Sarah Sheldon capped off the game with back-to-back scores (3:24 and 2:21).

UCLA returns to action on Saturday, April 20 when they take on No. 2 USC in a 4:00 p.m. PT tilt on "Senior Day" on the Pac-12 Networks.
