
UCLA Posts Season-High 197.575 in Dual Meet Win at Stanford

Stanford, Calif. – No. 3 UCLA opened up Pac-12 play on Monday night with a season-high team score of 197.575 in a dual meet victory at No. 25 Stanford. The Bruins hit 24-for-24 routines, with 22 scores going 9.800 or higher, including eight that went 9.9+.
The Bruins used new lineups on three of the four events and had four gymnasts make their season debuts on their respective events. On vault, Pauline Tratz and Chloe Lashbrooke each scored 9.825 on their first attempts of the year. Felicia Hano scored 9.900 on her first floor exercise appearance, and Nicki Shapiro competed for the first time since 2016 and scored 9.800 on balance beam.
Kyla Ross won the all-around for the fourth consecutive meet, scoring 39.575. She also took first place on uneven bars (9.950) and floor exercise (9.975) and tied for first with Nia Dennis on vault (9.900). Grace Glenn earned a leadoff score of 9.975 on beam to take first place.
UCLA started the meet on uneven bars with a 49.450, led by a trio of 9.9+ scores by Ross (9.950), Madison Kocian (9.900) and Margzetta Frazier (9.900) and 9.850s from Hano and Norah Flatley. Leading by half a point going into the second rotation, the Bruins extended the lead with a 49.275 on vault. Dennis and Ross tied for first with scores of 9.9, while the rest of the Bruin vaulters earned 9.825.
The Bruins posted 49.475 on floor exercise, with Flatley leading off with a career-high 9.875 and Lashbrooke and Dennis scoring back-to-back 9.850s. Gracie Kramer hit a strong routine for 9.875, and Hano and Ross closed with 9.900 and 9.975, respectively. UCLA finished on balance beam with six strong routines. Glenn led off with a nearly perfect 9.975, tying her career-high. Kendal Poston also tied her career-best with a 9.850. Flatley hit a season-high 9.875, and Dennis and Shapiro hit their first routines of the year for 9.875 and 9.800, respectively.
